Our Story

Why ICC Exists

Inglewood is a city on the rise. SoFi Stadium, the Intuit Dome, and Hollywood Park have drawn billions in new investment. Yet blocks from those same landmarks, families are losing the schools their children walk to.

Five schools closed in Inglewood in 2025 alone. Entire neighborhoods no longer have a walkable school. Only 33 percent of IUSD students meet the state's English standard, and just 20 percent meet the math standard, a fraction of what their peers in nearby districts reach.

ICC exists to provide supplemental support to Inglewood students during their time outside of regular school.

Why ICC Matters

When School Isn't in Session

ICC will exist to ensure that Inglewood's youth have access to supportive relationships, meaningful opportunities, and safe spaces to learn, flourish, and prosper during the hours and seasons when school is not in session.

After School

The critical hours after the school day ends often leave youth without reliable supervision, enrichment, or a safe place to go.

ii.

Weekends

Weekends can bring gaps in structured programming, mentorship, and family support when young people need connection most.

iii.

Winter Session

During the extended winter break, youth still need consistent engagement, support, and welcoming spaces while school is out.

iv.

Summer Breaks

Summer can mean idle time and learning loss, making enriching, safe programming especially important for youth to keep thriving.
